If you get this in time...

Kennedy Space Center is about an hour's drive east of Orlando.  Some interesting things to see there.  Near the Space Center is Titusville, where the Valient Air Command Museum is located.  Not the greatest museum...but it is there.

Just a little advice from one of the natives.

4th of july isnt a good idea either.

Speaking from experiance.

Yeah...if you can find him there he will gladly talk to you and show you some amazing stuff. Pretty impressive guy. He's rich (duh) and does what he wants to do aviation-wise but he's really a pretty normal guy (and an amazing pilot).

and a heck of a banjo player as well.  when he had the museum in Miami members were periodically invited to family days on Sundays.  He would drag out all the servicable planes and stage low fly-bys.  On one such occasion the Collins foundation excellently restored B-24J All-American stopped by and we were allowed to purchase rides and view the interior of the aircraft, on another a lufthansa restored Ju-52 was present as well.  I really miss his being here in S. Florida he and his museum added greatly to the community.

you might want to check out warbirds adventure. Its right next to flying tigers. They will let you fly a T-6. Did it a few years ago & it was a blast. Got a video of it too:cool:

Pooface hope you picked up travel insurance. May want to rethink it with the Hurricane. If you do go now or in the future check out Kissamee (sp?) area for an Aviation Museum. They rebuild old warbirds for museums and they have a T-6 "Texan", advanced fighter trainer for P-51 pilots that was originally built in 1945. you can go up in it. When I was there a couple years back visiting friends if you paid the $ you could do some ACM's.

the hurricane is already downgrading but these things usually bring considerable rain with them.  it may be somewhat soggy.
