This maybe old news but. I was doing a search looking for AH related sites and found this:

http://www.marcprensky.com/writing/IITSEC%20Paper%202002%20(536%20V2-Final).pdf

In it I found the below paragraph...

At the Air Force Academy, Captain Ed Kaplan has actively been using High Tech Creations’ Aces High with cadets, noting how much the cadets learn without even realizing it because of the entertainment value of the flight simulation game.

Pretty big kudos for HT and Co if you ask me.

Sabre and Jarbo (USAF satellite drivers in Colorado Springs) brought Aces High to the Air Force Academy in 1999 or 2000.  They set an all time Academy record for new members joining a club.  Their squad, The Buccaneers, flew as target planes for the newbie cadets to shoot at during recruitment.  That year, the cadets planned virtual war game in a AH scenario.  The cadets commanded each side from separate rooms at the Academy.

I remember that and was a part of it.  Was very cool, and a great turn out.  And I clearly remember us having no clue wtf we were doing either lol.

I think it took place in Norway.  The Allies had CVs and the Axis had a big battleship.  The Axis objective was to kill the Allied CVs.  I got stuck in JU-88s with my squad.  We went on CV patrols and got slaughtered every time.  The fighters supposedly saw a lot of action and most made it back each night.  The bombers usually got wiped out without ever seeing their “escorts”.  We did get one CV.

"ahh memories."

That was a real cool scenario (and time in general for playing AH).

When AH had a large percentage of the player base who were very much interested in scenarios.  Many players had to be turned away at scenario sign up because there were way too players many for the available positions.

How's Malta doing?
