We EVER going to get ANY new skins?

Yes. Pyro is off on vacation this week, and I am trying to catch up now. The move of the servers and changing ISP's consumed my time the last few weeks.
I apologize for the delay, and should be getting back on track this week. When Pyro gets back from vacation next week, we should have a fat batch to release.

Skuzzy, I'm curious. If you wish to keep some things to yourself I understand, but how much does Pyro handle, skin-wise? Does he choose the skins to review? Does he review them? Got any insight into the internal workings for those of us who submit 'em?

No problem Krusty. I take the rough submissions from everyone, unpack them, create the paper work for them, make sure all the files are correct, verify the description, send the email to the skinner notifying them of the skin reference number, and do a visual check for anything grossly out of line.

Pyro makes sure the skin is historically correct, while NATEDOG and Superfly do a visual check for quality and artistic accuracy (i.e. the skin actually looks good enough for us).

After they are done, I close out the paper work, build the skins for the server, and send the emails to the skinners notifying them of the status.

i know u said the skin pack will be big but will it be before the new patch with the 109s and spitfires s i did a spitfrier and id love to see it flying just a litttle before the new ones come on line

May I suggest that the default P-51D Mustang be replaced with Big Beautiful Doll. The current default mustang has an error in it's paint scheme. The squadron/plane codes are incorrectly located on the starbord side.

default skin is still very very good skin I wouldnt want to see it removed.

Speaking of default skins: The 190a5 has a default skin of 512x512. Even at 1024 res the skin is 512x512. Even when you "save as..." and check the files they are 512x512. Yes I have the high-res pack installed. Works on the other 190s, but not the A5.

Can we get a high-res default for the 190a5?

I think that goes for all skins. All I can get to start a template are 512x512 even though I run at 1024.

Nope. Try the "Save skin..." for a 190a8. Then try it for a 109 (any but the E4). Then try it for the 190a5. The a5 is the new standard but the old texture size. I imagine it's just that the high-res got left out of the high-res pack.

That's why it was such a pain to work on my own 190a5 template. Had to do most of it from scratch.

Please do not assume that I want the skin completely removed, just dropped back from the default skin. It is a very well done skin, oodles above what I could do. It is just not a historically correct skin. This sort of thing bothers me. Quite frankly how ever good it is, it pales in comparison to your BBD skin.

Actually, the default skin was corrected and touched up about a month ago, it just hasn't been introduced into a patch.
