no offence taken, i can quite easily admit that we do have faults in our country.

the key fault concerning immigration here IMO is the lack of integration towards the british culture/way of life/ideals.  there is very little national pride amongst them towards Britain, this is where i think America excels..

I think the Prince is too eager to appease tryanny.  And it shows a weakness to me.

Listen to him and be respectful and all that but 3000 american civilians died at the hands of nineteen representatives of islam on 9/11.  I dont see where we had much choice about inserting ourselves into the midst of islam, and like crap attracts flys, setting our military in a position to do grevious harm to our enemies.  You know, If it were I in the seat of power I would have taken the opportunity to destroy three or four countries on 9/12 and laid serious warning to the others about behaving themselves.

In any event, I dont think the Prince is in a very powerful position here at all....

97%?  Really?  I'm surprised, where did you get that percentage from?  Second most popular surname in the UK is Patel, an Indian name.  I don't have a problem of what colour people are, afterall as long as they're British they can be blue for all I care (smurfs!!!).

As for our borders being oceans, well, the asylum seekers get kicked out of mainland Europe and end up in Britain because the government is a soft touch.  It's becoming a major problem identifying the genuine asylum seekers from the usual "I'll come and take your free health service, free housing, free income support....".

Anyway, Charles can voice his opinions, he's free to, but whether you listen is entirely your choice.  So if you disagree then slag him off, not the rest of Britain since when it's reversed you soon get defensive.

ok replicant... what percentage of brits are white?  I had heard 97% on this BB and there was a link.

furbie... I think your info on the U.S. is outdated or... not so much outdated but.... doesn't consider the mexican situation.

for the most part you are right... people who come here seem to enjoy learning the language and being part of the American experiance...   They seem grateful and are a big plus to the country but.... in a lot of cases the mexicans both legal, but more, the illegal.... tend to want to make the U.S. a part of mexico.   They want the advantages but want to keep the culture and language that got made em so poor and downtrodden to begin with.

hmm Asians (mostly southeast) who come to US seem to really like/adopt *some* of the "American" experience.  They're eager to learn the English language but please be soft on their accents:p  PS when u asked them how they picture USA, they automatically picture LOS ANGELES, LAS VEGAS, NEW YORK, SAN FRANCISCO, and CHIGAGO.  These are some of the greatest cities in USA and people flock therre.

Well, I come from the midlands in England, where there is a huge diversity and many different cultures.  There are festivals that are held there which are the only ones held outside of India.  There's something like 7 or 8 different religions and on the whole it is good to see them part of the community.  Obviously some are not like that though and they're the only ones I have a problem with if they're not willing to abide by British laws.

The percentages are a little disproportionate because there are many regions where they have virtually no non-white inhabitants, whereas other areas, notably the midlands and west/south yorkshire they probably have in the region of 30-40%.

Ethnic groups:
white (English 83.6%, Scottish 8.6%, Welsh 4.9%, Northern Irish 2.9%) 92.1%, black 2%, Indian 1.8%, Pakistani 1.3%, mixed 1.2%, other 1.6% (2001 census)
Religions:
Christian (Anglican, Roman Catholic, Presbyterian, Methodist) 71.6%, Muslim 2.7%, Hindu 1%, other 1.6%, unspecified or none 23.1% (2001 census)

So, that means nearly 7 million Briton's are non-white (more non-whites that white-Scottish, white-Welsh, white-Northern Irish, though not combined).

BTW It's Wales, not Whales :)

Only one problem with that. Its not the princes country that the Islamic people refer to as "The Great Evil" Its not his royal keester on the line, its ours.

A third of the worlds population do not feel threatened by England.
They do feel threatened by the USA.
We represent everything they fear about the 20th Century.

replicant... the site I showed is from the BBC and it is the latest census.

Have you ever been to the U.S.?   I have been to england... it is like a KKK gathering diversity wise.

the census shows 91% white in england and 98% white in scotland.... not even a token amount of minorities by U.S. standards.   My state is allmost 50% non white.

So.. getting a lecture from anyone in england about non white races is laughable.

The prince is coming.

Hmmmmm...guess he will sing When Doves Cry" while he`s here.

How can u just leave me standing?
Alone in a world that's so cold? (So cold)
Maybe I'm just 2 demanding
Maybe I'm just like my father 2 bold
Maybe you're just like my mother
She's never satisfied (She's never satisfied)
Why do we scream at each other
This is what it sounds like
When doves cry

:rofl

The latest census is 2001; it's held every 10 years.

Ah, didn't realise you'd been to England, you know, you've been to one place and it's all the same you know *sarcasm off*.  What I was trying to highlight is that there are more non-whites than there are Scottish people.

CIA website lists 82% white people in USA.  So it goes to show that the area you live in, you mention that 50% are not white.  The area I'm from is the same!

Lada, Charles is a romantic, living in the past, but he was most instrumental in helping Commonwealth countries detach from the UK.  He's very eco-friendly, all for cultural change but not for industrial change.  The UK is very compact and not spread out like the US.  The cultural diversity is more evident because it isn't spread out so much; it's in the heartland of the country.

I'm personally not fond of him; William and Anne are the better ones! :)

And Lada, careful with your baiting, you may catch a few! :)

BTW, you in Praha or nearish to Plzen?
