Open Range was good... But I still like The Wild Bunch what a great movie!

Oboe... I did like the movie.   It was simplistic and that is what I got out of it.  

I also really like unforgiven and the wild bunch.   even tombstone.. I think firefly is a great western series.

all of those movies had a common thread.  

In order to be an individual the heroes in every one of em had to break the law.  In all the movies save the wild bunch (and somewhat in that one)... trying to fit in did not work.   It is hard to put up with the power grabbers when you have the means and the will to resist.

I know that a lot of guys who have really ugly criminal pasts and are now pretty much upstanding citizens (more or less) found "unforgiven"....

uncomfortable.  we all own a copy tho.
