In 1958 and 1959, Robert timm of Las Vegas and John Cook of Los Angeles flew a CESSNA 172 for 64 days, 22 hours, and 19 minutes, refueling was accomplished by handing a fuel hose to one of the pilots as they flew low and slow over a pick-up truck. the duo logged more then 1,558 hours in a little more then two months.

Well, Furby, technically it could have done that, it only needed to travel fast enough to follow the daylight during earth's rotation! :D

In order to follow the sun, at the equator, the plane would have to travel a little better than 1,000 mph.

Do-able, but what a fuel bill!

So, follow the sun to charge batteries, - when it's getting away, reverse to greet the sun again :D
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)
