Here it is folks... Prop 73 on the California Ballot. If this thing passes, I don't want to hear any more crap about California being a liberal state.

it will probably get overturned in the SC anyways as a violation of constitutional right to an abortion.

Wasn't really my point. :)

You're right though, I think. The SC probably won't allow it... of course, the SC is changing, so who knows?

yup true.  If this get's passed California will have a slightly changed view in my minds eye.  Most of the talk I'm hearing is that opponents to most of the props fear that people who would normaly vote against such measures are more likely to not even vote at all.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't see this issue as a Republican vs. Democrat issue.

Maybe the two parties are trying to polarize it, or maybe they are just snatching up sides to try to sway unsure people in the future.

I think it's despicable for both of them.

Other states have laws like this; if it gets voted in I bet it stands.

So what you are saying Sandy is Liberals don’t give a **** if their minor children have abortions without consent from them.

Massachusetts I am fairly sure has pretty much this law on the books already and the world didn’t end.

You sure all liberals want to give up a portion of their rights as parents?

What is so wrong with making a kid own up to her parents for making a very big mistake. Most parents are not monsters. The ones that are can be bypassed, and planned parenthood will have people who are more then willing to help girls that need a hand hold through the court system to keep abusive parents from finding out.

It has nothing to do with abortion.  It has to do with the rights of parents and the rights of minors.

I have not met one parent of a girl who is either liberal or conservative who does not want to be notified if the school decides to ship their daughter off for an abortion.

If the sc is in any doubt about parents rights on this one then I am even more glad (if that is possible) that bush is picking the justices instead of kerrie.

why would anyone think this is an abortion issue?

Who cares except those in CA? Again, some residents of CA think they are the progressive state, and we should care/pay attention to their politics....

Now excuse me while I go have a veggie burger, see my therapist, and drive my electric car.

Speaking for Rip, I would venture a guess that minors can't be aborted post pregnancy.

Post birth abortion could be used for crimes like, tagging and wearing pants 5 sizes to big belted below your crotch. :D
