Why not add these to the naval inventory?

Cool idea but I don't think it would be able to submerge, as the water surface is treated as hard ground in AHII.

I don't think you would literally have the sub submerge.  You would just give it an animation and have it morph into a slight shadow on the water.

Of course this shadow would be determined by the Sun and the depth.

Or maybe a periscope that leaves a wake, and that would be pilot view.

HiTech did have plans to eventually add a submarine to AH but I think TOD's development has pushed the ideas of subs to the back burner for now.

We had subs in a n old version of... umm... 'another sim'... that just cruised around by themselves and had a radar emitter on board, plus I think what amouted to a 5-inch gun and a pair of .50s or something similar. The things were so narrow when viewed from the top and so low to the water that they were damn hard to spot unless you knew where to look- especially in low-light times.

Didn't take too much to knock them out if I recall correctly (maybe 2 or 3 hits from a 5-inch rocket), but it was kinda neat to have to watch out for radar pickets during low level interdiction runs or to get early warning of an inbound raid from a picket sub cruising a sector or two behind enemy lines.

Might be a nice idea for some time down the road. :aok
Treize (pronounced 'trays')- because 'Treisprezece' is too long and even harder to pronounce.
