the s-vid to rca adapter is actually from a three year old nivida broad, maybe it's your tv, were you using a shielded s-video cable?
i know when using a cheap s-vid i had alot of ghosting, as it lay in a myriad of power, sound and router cables.
Yes I was using pretty good S-video cables but the problem I was having was my ATI card wouldnt enable the output because It didn't detect anything connected so to speak. On another card it worked but the output I got was in black and white and it wouldnt let me adjust the resolution. Either way the switch that I wanted to use couldnt work with the setup so I droped $40 on a pci vid card with a composite output and it works like a champ.
