I'm serious guys, I was in a 222, re-built from actual schematics with a gas gun!

Ahh the perks of being a reenactor, being buzzed by Texans flashing their landing lights as if they were guns!

It sounds like a cool hobby,  if you have the time.

I've been chased by one of these, spraying paintballs instead of bullets.

I managed to zig-zag, headless-chicken-run my way to safety.

You don't have to be faster than the tank... just faster than your teammates.

Not too bad looking for a paintball machine..

It basicly is an original 222.

Actual armor deteriated, engine, is gone etc.

So they basicly re-built it from the schematics, I dunno who, but it's a constant repair job, it's got a V8 engine in it, from some sort of truck.

It's got 1/4 inch armor opposed to 1inch armor, the doors are the true 1inch armor though.

It's got fans etc inside to keep it running cool, but it still gets damn hot sitting next to the engine.

They bought it up in Illinois.

Ahh, here we go. This picture is from 1998. Shortly before its final game it was refitted with a brand new, custom built turret (not shown). Much more comfortable and roomier. It was retired from paintball play in 2001 or so. The guy in the pic is the owner. I've played with & against this thing. It's always a blast.

I've ridden in this "tank" too. Fairly effective. It was under my command during the Apocalypse Now event. It's a dressed up lawnmower with a trailer. The netting makes it tolerable to ride in with Texas temperatures.

This is my old team's (the Mayberry Marauders) patrol car. Cool looking, fun to drive, but horrible in combat.

I was lit up pretty bad by this freaking contraption at Camp Blanding. I despise it.

I hijacked this tank (a gutted cargo van... with no power steering) and went on a rampage around Camp Blanding's MOUT site... at 8mph... with 2000+ pounds of heavily armed, adrenaline fueled rednecks in the back... in a smoke filled city... I lost 20 pounds trying to get it turned. They eventually replaced me with a much beefier driver. Oh well, wasn't even getting used until I noticed the keys were in the ignition.

Then a tank, and this people-propelled-gun thingy opened up on me. It can rain nerf footballs from way farther away than I thought. They were using it to mortar the rooftops.

Now I've got blueprints to build my own paintball-wheeled-death-machines. Light, good ground clearance, tight turn radius, 2-seat with a raised gunner position. Onboard GPS, comms, psych-war loudspeakers, mini-pc network to share positioning, field maps, gun cams, etc...

anybody wanna teach me how to weld? :)

ALL YOUR THREAD ARE BELONG TO ME! :)

That 222 is pretty cool. Kinda jealous. I'd be real jealous if it mounted a paintball gun... speaking of which, if y'all want to use it in a big paintball event 26 hours long with hundreds of players, I've got the connections.

On a rare occasion somebody will bring a trike-style ultralite. The person in the sissy seat just kinda looks over the side and shoots down. Their effectiveness is pretty horrible overall. I looked into the feasibility of using R/C aircraft to drop nerf football bombs, but that was ruled out because I didn't have some solutions to what-if's.. "what if it goes out of control and crashes into little johnny?  well...we get Berry on the radio & call an ambulance?" My UAV idea was neutered about the same time (w/o even taking into account FAA restrictions). Looks like static weather balloons with wireless cameras will have to suffice for that, but with sometimes up to 200 acres to watch, the coverage won't be anywhere near good enough.

Still working on a better option for air superiority instead of the crappy simulated strikes they do now... but I'm short on ideas.
