My first work in progress.
« on: November 07, 2005, 05:34:38 PM »
Capt. Daniel Roberts, 433rd Fighter Squadron, 475th Fighter Group.

I still have to make the weathering and panel line/rivet layers, and I also really have to fix the demarcation between the upper and lower surface colors. I'm mainly looking for some input on how close it looks in terms of coloring. I can eyeball locations pretty well, but I don't have the best eye for color.

Any constructive criticism is welcomed, but please be gentle, this is my first attempt at an AH skin. :)

The blue will get darker when I weather it, I actually brightened it up a bit on the base because when I tested the weathering out, it looked way too dull.

Capt. Roberts was a well respected squadron commander, so in my mind, I see his markings as being a bit brighter and better maintained than the norm.

I think you've got a good start, but it's too bare. You need to begin working on the panel lines, they will help a lot.

Good source for RGB's for colors -

Would assume the blue should be "True Blue".

Yeah krusty, Im about 1/3 of the way dome with the panel line layer now. Will start on the weathering after that.

I can only work so long before my eyes start to cross though...

I know I forgot to pu the kill marks back on and the panel lines look funny, just updating the progress report and looking for more feedback. Are the colors closer? I took them off the Simmers Paintshop this time instead of just eyeballing them. The panel lines are just on there because I flattened the PDF I am using to make the skin so that I could view it as is.

Weathering and fine-tuning the panel lines are next. I need to fade the paint bigtime.
