Where did anyone say the VIII would be clipped? In fact most, who cared, asked that they not be clipped...

Nope, but I'd wager that the Spit XVI has a perk in its future.

Yeah, I'm sure that will be the outcome seeing as it is a true monster. Fastest climber in the game... Yeah, it out-climbs the 109K-4.

It'll be overused....

Personally, I like the Mk.VIII more.

Lol, you realise the VIII has exactly the same motor as the XVI in it?
Take less fuel, the VIII should climb as well as the XVI, and still turns better, slightly faster.

Be a sad, sad day IF what is essentially a 1943 LF IXe is perked ahead of the late war stuff.
Plus it puts the RAF back to either a 1943 (debateable) Tiff, or a 1942 Spit again as their free fighter rides.

Overused - LA7 has been consistently the most used plane by on average 20% more than its closest rival (N1K), it's not perked.

Of course it's going to get used a lot, better than the IX down low were MA fights are, faster than the V (esp now the V has been neutered).

Now if the F.21 had been introduced, then yeah that would be perked, or maybe even a XII.

Don't know why people compare it to the K-4?
K-4 is a high alt plane, XVI is a down in the dirt beast.
K-4 is more properly compared to the XIV.

Not that I advocate perking it, but as I understand it the Spitfire LF.Mk IXe was introduced in 1944.  The LF.Mk IX from 1943 had a universal wing.

Also the Spitfire Mk VIII is a 1943 Spitfire, not a 1942 Spitfire.

Hopefully things will cool down and it'll be ok and free.

Why perk it?

109K4,190D9, LA7, N1k, Spit16,P51D,P38L... either perk all of em or none.
