Next planes?
« on: November 11, 2005, 06:41:50 AM »
Which planes are next in line for a make over?

Im guessing B17 since its a ToD plane and the overhaul needed there is HUGE so Im guessing that 2.07 will be B17 only.

But I really hope that we can get updates of non ToD planes really soon as well.

If I got to pick Id love to see some focus on the eastern hemisphere both on Russian and Jap planes. Both these cathegories are in desperate need of new planes as there are huuuuuuge gaps in the arsenals.

So for example remake of Yak9U/T and add Yak7... alternativly Remake Zekkes and add a Tojo.

A couple of months ago they said the B-17G would be the next to get a new model.  They didn't say anything about any others so it is probably the only one.

I am hoping they add a B17E or B17F at the same time as they redo the B-17G.

How bout redoing the P40s.  P40B, P40E, add the Merlin powered P40F that all the MTO USAAF Groups flew, and the lighter P40N that saw so much service in the Pacific and CBI.

Or redo the Me 110 and add an Me 410

Then again....Beaufighter! :)

how bout overhauling some FW-190 lineup?

for example, add FW-190A-4 (1942-43 era), replace 190A-5 with 190A-6 (1943-44), and put BMW 801 TS on 190A-8/F-8 (middle-late 1944 to 1945) for better low alt performance.  the D-9 is ok and Ta-152 should be converted to AH2 standards.

Note: FW190A5 is modeled off is EB-104. An FW-190G the USAAF tried to ballast back to an FW-190A5. The G series has a higher drag profile than the FW-190A so it climbs at a steeper angle and much slower speed. It lacked the engine setup of the Antons and it's performance is not representative of the type.

We all know B-17s will be restored to AH2 standards for version 2.07

*virtually* all GERMAN IRONs (109s and 190s) are complete.  I think its sound to bring new massive waves of soviet planes right now.

Fighters

I-16 type 24
MiG-3
LaGG-3
La-5 (an LaGG-3 airframe fitted with 1,700hp M-82 radial engine)
La-5FN (improved La-5 with all-round vision with 1,850hp M-82FN engine)
La-7
Yak-9 standard (dont make -9D or -9M, just Yak-9 standard)
Yak-9T
Yak-3
Yak-9U
P-39Q-10

Bombers/Attackers

Il-2 Single seat (first version of IL-2.  it carried  2x 7.62mm MG ShKAS, 2x 20mm cannon ShVAK, 8x RS82, and bombs of different weight weighing up to 600 kg)

IL-2 Type-3 (the one we have in AH)

IL-2 Type-3M (same as AHs IL-2 but with NS-37 cannon option)

Pe-2

A-26 Invader would be cool.

I think one version had a 75mm nose cannon too, but I don't know if that was common. That would mess up some tanks for sure.

We need more Japanese fighters.  And Soviet fighters should be added also.  We have more spits, and 109s then we need.  And don't have enough Japanese or Soviet fighters.

This mho of course.  Russia produced fighters in massive amounts and we have only Two versions of the Las' and Yaks.

Methinks if we would count up the models and the variants Japanese and Soviet representation would be a great deal short.

honostly, i really dont think it matters what we think the next planes will be.  We  can guess all we want but most of us will be wrong.  Its gonna be up to HTC and no one else.  So personally, it doesnt matter what the next planes will be because, eventually, all the planes will be redone!
