Finally got around to getting some work done.  So far all I've done is panel lines, rivets, and basic insignias. Haven't done any weathering of any kind.  I have plenty left to do:

-Adjust camo layers to line up right
-Fix sizes of insignias on wings and the insignia on the vert. stabilizer
-Adjust opacities to final settings
-Lots of weathering and paint chipping
-Add the black line that are on all spits (wing line, not sure if its a panel line or just painted on)
-Fix camo on the nose to match that of the real thing

The wingroot rivets look a little odd to me, if anyone can tell me whats wrong I'd appreciate it!  It gets kind of hard to pick things out after staring at it for a few hours at a time. :)

EDIT: Add real plane profile

Comments and corrections very welcome as always!

About 85% finished.

I've still got to:

-Fix rudder and ailerons to give them texture.  Nothing on them now
-Maybe redo paint chipping, I'm not sure I like it
-Fix the gun smoke on the wings, its too big at the start
-Add that black line I mentioned above
-Fix the camo
-Add the canopy slide slot
-Add dirt and grime on the underside
-Redo the mottling I did.  When it converted to bitmap it intensified dramatically
-Maybe increase rivet opacity.  They are visible from the cockpit, but not from outside.  Though, I have read that this is accurate.  Anyone have more info on that?

And as always, comments and corrections are more than welcome!

EDIT: jpeg turned what little quality it had into nothing

Update:

Finally got around to getting some work done on it.

-Dirtied it up some
-Redid all paint chipping
-Fixed gun smoke
-Added the black line
-Fixed a camo line-up problem

Still gotta add the canopy slide, grime on the underside, and a few other odds and ins.  I'd say its about 95% done.

The top of the star is 2x too tall, going by the picture. Either it's stretching on the skin or something wierd. I also think the numbers need to be shifted down a bit. The proportional position of them seems too high.

Dunno what you'll think about this, but in the real picture of the spit, the big star behind the "538" looks like it's pretty light in value.  It stands out against the surrounding camo.  However, on your skin, it looks like the star's the same value as the camo or maybe even a little darker, so it barely registers when looking at the plane.

It might just be a reflection off of the star in the real pic... I dunno, but it does seem pretty bright.

I agree with the brightness of the star, but it *might* just be a shadow. Look at the star on the wing. It's much more visible. It looks like the sun is at 12 O'clock, so the sides would be in shadow, maybe.

I see what you mean with the star brightness.  In the screenshot I took, the sun is directly overhead.  I think in the actual picture that the glare is making the side look brighter than it actually is.  Then again, it could be that I have the red too dark.  I'll experiment a little and see what you all think here in the next week.

I'll be doing the other things mentioned as well here pretty quick.

Thanks!
