Is it me or is the field acks more deadly since the latest upgrade?

Personally I wish that AHII would take all the auto acks out of the game and let them be manned by players. If I wanted to play against a computer I would fly MS FlightSim!

They are there for a reason, been there ever since the game came out. Keeps whiny little kids from vulching and playing on an enemy field.

It's already easy enough to milkrun an undefended field.... Taking away ack would mean nobody would bother to deack before jabo-ing the town and gooning the map room. Takes 30 seconds tops for a cannon armed plane to de-ack as it is.

Well, I does take longer if you keep orbiting at 2K out waiting for guys to try and up then come screaming in, toast him on the runway and scream out to continue orbiting.

There's not enough ack on fields IMHO. Pierre Closterman once lost 3 wingmen in Tempests in a single pass on an airfield. Airfield strikes were an incredibly dangerous mission. I'd like to see 88mm, 40mm, 37mm, quad 20mm, quad .50 cal, and dual 7.62mm mounts all over the base.

Field ack should be made indestructable and should be changed to 105mm.

Puffy ack seems alot more accurate since the patch. I can't help but wonder if the AI was helped by the new smoothing code. I am getting picked out of the sky on a regular basis by normal base puffy at 10k jinking at 300+mph...I almost never did before the patch.

Everyone is their own commander. Everyone is qualified to fly, drive, shoot everything. Nobody is under anybody elses orders unless they want to be. Everybody can rise from the ashes and do it all over again. Major airfields are defended with just 3 manned 37mm guns.

And the auto ack is what makes this a game....

Lead To Air Ratio. A very good GV squad. I can't think of another squad that the ground mission is the primary focus.
