Assist in WWII

During WWII if a pilot had two 1/2 kills (assist) would that equal a kill?  Additionally if that pilot had four confirmed single kills and the two 1/2 kills (assist) would he be considered an ace?

1/2 +1/2 in not equal to 1 in this

when pilot get a kill it was conted as 1
when he had more assist it was like 1 + 1/2 + 1/16 but never as kill

Do you have a reference?  I don't think what you said is true, at least not for US pilots.  I believe everything was continuously added together so that 1 + 1/2 + 1 + 1/4 would equal 2 3/4.  At least, that is from some things I read in the past.  However, if you have a reference you can post of a link I can follow I would be interested in the information.

If 2 guys land hits on a plane and it goes down finally how would they decide who got an assist?..I think not. No basis for this but there is no server counting/measure damage done by you as opposed to your wingman. I may have to do some studying on this matter of fact.

My thought would be the guy that flames the bogey or finshes him off gets the kill...

LW does not count  part kills (1/something)

VVS divide victories  to  indyvidual and group
so, if you had 1 + 1/2+1/2+1/4
it was count as 1 individuall and 3 group victories (not kills), sometimes it was  count as 4 victries total
Same for Frenches 1940

RAF count every parts, and here strange this happends like 9/20 victories

Every air force had different policies and practices. There was no uniformity of this sort of thing in WW1 or WW2.

In the RAF, yes, 4 and 1/2 and another 1/2 would could be counted either as 5 kills or 6 victories (4 and 2 shared).

In the Luftwaffe, they didnt use fractions, and it would be decided to award the kill to who they thought was the most responsible for it.

In the Russian VVS they awarded shared kills as group kills, with the unit getting credit.

In the USAAF they used fractions as well, you could get 1/4 of a share.

In the IJN and IJAAF they also did not use fractions.

...so it all depended.
