I'm sorry to hear that.  Not that we dont have our share of Socialists here too.

I have rather high hopes that this cowboy thing will help the anti-gun problems in other countries.  People seem to tolerate us a bit better than some of the other shooting sports.  I think its because of the dress-up part.  If you just start talking about guns, non-gun folks just look at you funny at best, fear and hate you at worst.  But when you see people dressed up in cowboy outfits, people you see every day at the office or at the doctor's or doing construction, I dont know, instead of thinking we are crazy people just laugh a little and smile and tolerate.  Its like the cowboy hat has become the universal symbol of the good guy.  You cant hate or fear a guy dressed like he just stepped out of a Roy Rogers movie.  You might think he's nuts still, but a good kind of nuts I guess.

Many of the countries are still limited to black powder only for their cowboy guns.  The folks in Poland have a goal of having guns (and their replicas) up to 1873 allowed, so they can have Colt Peacemakers and clones that shoot metallic cartridges.

I just hope these Europeans dont find out just how ornery, cantankerous and stubborn real cowboys are.  Would ruin the whole effect.  :)

We can still get them over here in the USA, too.  They passed a law back in the '80s to stop the further importation and manufacture of full auto weapons, but existing ones are still legal.  Since 1934, we have paid a $200 transfer tax when buying a full auto weapon.

Of course, the result of that law was vastly increased prices on the existing pieces.  An AR-15 semi auto is less than $1000, a full auto M-16 can cost $15000.

Right now, I am going through the paperwork to buy an SW-76 subgun in 9x19 caliber.  Those are not terribly expensive, due to their lack of collectibility.

You are right, though.  The government will not allow you to import your full auto guns to the USA.  That is sad.

voice... I am not sure but I don't think you are one of the ones calling for Americans to give up our guns.   I have talked to guys from norway and they are really scared about losing their rights.   You have no real guarentee I believe?

One thing for sure.... The reason that the U.S. is such a target for the gun grabbers is cause... if we fall... the rest of you guys will be easy to bully into submission.   That is my take anyway.

voice... that is what I hear from others in norway..  I think you see it clearly... the socialists and nannies will use any excuse to disarm the citizens..

Guns at home that don't work... penalties and regestration for law aboiding people... all kinds of obsticals throw up to prevent citizens from defending themselves...  all BS..

I am hoping that with the two new supreme court judges that Bush put on we will finally get a ruling on the second amendment.   I want to crush the gun grabber socialists forever.
