I'm sorry to hear that. Not that we dont have our share of Socialists here too.
I have rather high hopes that this cowboy thing will help the anti-gun problems in other countries. People seem to tolerate us a bit better than some of the other shooting sports. I think its because of the dress-up part. If you just start talking about guns, non-gun folks just look at you funny at best, fear and hate you at worst. But when you see people dressed up in cowboy outfits, people you see every day at the office or at the doctor's or doing construction, I dont know, instead of thinking we are crazy people just laugh a little and smile and tolerate. Its like the cowboy hat has become the universal symbol of the good guy. You cant hate or fear a guy dressed like he just stepped out of a Roy Rogers movie. You might think he's nuts still, but a good kind of nuts I guess.
Many of the countries are still limited to black powder only for their cowboy guns. The folks in Poland have a goal of having guns (and their replicas) up to 1873 allowed, so they can have Colt Peacemakers and clones that shoot metallic cartridges.
I just hope these Europeans dont find out just how ornery, cantankerous and stubborn real cowboys are. Would ruin the whole effect.
