I give up!!!!
« on: November 20, 2005, 02:55:19 PM »
I have tried everything told and read about trying to stop the lock ups slow motion to reg speed online and I give up. I bought a good computer AMD3800 1gb memory put a 256meg pci express ATI video card in it made all the setting changes installed a SB sound card. All I get is lock ups at loading the game in the game I'll be flying along and you look out the cockpit and things will go from normal speed to RREAAALL Slow then BAM!!! Reg speed and CRASH on landing because you are now there before you have a chance to realized it when the game goes back to normal speed! Sometimes I here my HD spin up not sure if thats normal, oh and lets not forget if you get around a base that a few other people are on range it messes with me also. I just want to fly and I think I might have to try a dif game to see if I can do just that.

Sounds like the power supply is giving up.

Maybe the SB card accelerator speed needs to be turned down?  He mentioned trouble when people talk.
Have you sent the DX output report to Skuzzy yet?
Just for kicks, pull the sound card out and try playing the game without it.  Maybe even getting an IRQ conflict with it.  If that solves the prob, put the sound card back in, in a different port.

Can't do this in AH as it requires a soundcard installed to play the game.   No soundcard, no play.

brand new computer! not the power supply, brand new sound card was doing the same thing with the old on board sound ,onboard sound turned off in bios. please dont say its the video card its not its been replaced. If I was to replace everything that people says is the problem IE power supply
I will be rebuilding a new computer and I'm sure it would still do the same thing. How do I send DXdiag to you Skuzzy?

Then I did not get it.  All email was cleared late Wednesday night, before we broke for the holiday.
