DVI cable and LCD monitor question
« on: November 21, 2005, 11:23:12 AM »
Old Sony CRT finally started to go bad, so I bought a new monitor. Got the Samsung 960, a 19" LCD with 4ms response time. I am getting some ghosting (slight), but the picture is awesome!
My question is should I get a DVI to DVI cable and might it improve the performance a little. Currently using the old analog to DVI cable that came with the monitor. BTW, I have a 9800 Pro, so I think that it has a DVI output on it. (I'm at work, so I'm not currently looking at my rig).
Any help or opinions?
Thanks!:aok

Hooked up the DVI cable last night. It does look great, and seems to have relieved the small ghosting problem I had as well.
My old 19" Sony was a higher end monitor at the time I got it, but I have to say this new Samsung 960BF TFT LCD looks so much better. Besides providing a larger viewing surface (a true 19" as opposed to the 17 1/2" of the Sony), the colors are more vibrant and the details much sharper. The colors on the Sony looked washed-out by comparison.
So far, me likes! :aok
