Para Frags and Napalm. Both would be great for taking down towns and such.

Napalm a fuel refinery...That would rock.

parafrags are designed so that low level planes won't be caught in their own blast. We don't have a blast that damages planes (not even when dropped mere feet off the ground) unless you're about to hit the ground anyways, so there's no point to them.

Napalm if I recall was post-war.

Apparently July 17, 1944 was first usage in Europe and during the
Tinian campaign for the Pacific.

heh... I know that napalm itself was around (what do you think was in all those flamethrowers?) but the practice of dropping it from planes as a bomb? I think that might have been post war. It was big in Korea and Vietnam

Napalm was dropped by aircraft in WWII, mostly in the Pac. Theater, but some in Europe too.

Our bombs do have blast damage for the plane that drops them.  I have been nailed by it on multiple occasions.

Unless HiTech turned it off, you can get hit by your own blast if you're too low.

Napalm was not post-war either.  It was used effectively against both Japanese and German entrenched positions.

Anyone know if the Tiny Tim rocket was used in second world war combat?
I know it was tested aplenty & deployed at least on the USS Franklin & Inrepid & that there was a plan to deploy it against V1 launch sights, but I've never read that it was actually put into play

Actually thats not true krusty.

I've blown the tail off my A20 numerous times from my own bomb blast.

Combination of dropping a bit too low trying to nail a GV, and not having quite enough speed to get far enough away.

Napalm was used a lot in the Pacific. Mostly because the Japanese tended to dig all positions into the mountains. Or use existing caves and modify them.

The only real way to get them was napalm/flame throwers.

Parafrags would be an ideal addition for B26s, A20's, Bostons, etc.

As for Napalm, enable it from Carrier groups only. Let the F6f's & F4u's have the honor.

I'm almost positive I've read about ETO napalm use, but I can remember exactly where
