I appologize for taking the other conversation way to far.

You are a great player and a really decent person. Both as an opponent and as a wingie.

I got a little (actually a whole bunch) too carried away.

Being a sim pilot I tend to be an arrogant, and overbearing SOB at times :(

If only the rest of the people on channel 200 would make this kind of statement, it would make AH a much better place.

No problem Foder. There was a time maybe 15 years ago I was overly  hyper-sensitive about stuff like this. I have since become as think skinned as an alligator. When I choose to post in here I do so to promote interesting discussion, usually that which involves some of the rarely discussed finer points of Fighter Combat which I have a vested hobbyist interest in. I deliberately put myself in the 'devil's advocate' position to entice responses from people like yourself, and some of my other favorite debate sparring partners like mars01, Slapshot, RedTop, Morpheus, Leviathn, ghi and many others. I intentionally engage people in debate who disagree with me, I want to explore the other side of the argument with them, and I want to articulate my side. While the discussions may adopt an adversarial tone they only do so because we are debating, that is taking sides, on an issue we feel strongly about one way or another.

One thing people don't realise is for every poster on these boards there's 10 lurkers. These people may only rarely if ever post themselves, but they diligently read threads of interest to them. What we do when we have these discussions is actually create a sense of community and written continuity of experience that translates over into the game. This is a good thing. It is an especially good thing for newer players, they actually learn alot about how to be a better players, some of the un-written rules, Do's and Don'ts etc. So, just keep that in mind and remember try not to make anything too personal , this is the internet, we are not real combat pilots, noone REALLY knows the other person, we have no basis or right to make personal character judgements about one another based on anything on this BBS or in the game. Until you meet the other guy and have a beer with him in real life you really have no clue what kind of person he really is...
