Just a thought. No need for flames. :)
What if HT bought that old sim back cheap. After it goes tits up.  The WB FM married to AH would be a dream sim for me.  I would even build a new personal confuser for that.

Dunno, Easy.

I was never that fond of a few parts of the WB FM.. well, OK.. I HATED a few parts of the WB FM.  :)

Overall, I like the AH FM.

...and I said "overall". Both FM's have + & - points.

YMMV.

..besides, with Wild Bill back, HT will probably end up with most of the customers anyway.  :D

Of course, I only see what he posts here and what he does in the MA.  I know virtually nothing about the man.  I think its important for people to realize that we don't really know squat about each other.... definately not enough to use words like "hate".

With the advent of the CT there is nothing I miss from WB except the S3 community and the 925 CABS.

925 CABS, would that happen to mean...

925 Children, Asses, and Buttheads to Shoot?

About the only thing I miss from WB is some of the planes (early war, and yes, the Ki84). About the only thing I miss at iEN is DoA. Honestly though, I kinda like the path HTC is on right now. The community is really starting to take hold of the events, the gameplay is fast and furious anytime I am on, and there are more ways than ever to play. I would never want HTC to tie an anchor around its neck in the form of an acquisition of a seemingly dying and dead-end project.

<disclaimer: Cabby, I said *seemingly* so don't get upset. I feel for you guys (not that you care that I do), and if it's gonna take WBS to save you, well, the "for sale" signs should be popping up on your lawns soon.

That was the first thing implemented after the last of the original ICI left the building. It was what led to my quiting the WB trainers program.  I gotta say though, I played the WB3 beta in August.  I was not impressed at all.  The graphics are pretty, but not as nice as AH or WW2 OL or as functional.  That was the only new thing I saw after 3 yrs of developement  Virtualy everything else was the same as it was when I left back in 99. The one thing about WB i've always liked over AH is spins, they felt better to me in WB. I never spin in AH.  I may stall and drop a wing, but I've never entered a flat spin in any plan in AH, unless I had damage.  But the mush code in WB ruined that effect for me and led to fights that ended up me fighting my stick over correcting because of the mush code.

It would be poetic for HTC to buy back WB, but I don't see what benefit it could have to HTC businesswise.  AH is alread a superior product, best out there  :) and for WB to be flyable to me anyway they'd have to revert it to where it was back in july of 99.  That's an old game, and I like new games...

Now with Wild Bill going back, I expect another infusion of AH players soon  ;)  I've got hope to be flying with some old friends and foes soon.

IMO WB III is the only one that has future potential and even then I find my preferences lay with the features found in AH. I signed up for the latest free trial but I've yet to try it online. I want to just to even if to peek in. But learning all new commands and buttons, the mush FM and lack of an AH '3d' view hasn't made it appealing enough to take my limited time online away from AH, and when I only have a few minutes tops,  RTCW/MOH_AA too.

Talk about potential nosferatu.  AW died. Bet you could get the rights to a real old version (Mac/Amiga/DOS one) pretty cheap and ressurrect na oldy but a goldy  ;)

that's just it, I saw no new commands or buttons.  It was the same old 2.0 interface. I had a pretty good laugh over it too.  I'd bet 75% of the code is still HT code  :)

I did as well.  Let me say right off that AH is the first sim I have really played other than CFS for a few months before I discovered AH.  I have never played WB at all except for this free trial thing that they just had.  It was ok...I loved the huge selection of planes that were available, but the graphics were not at all what I expected.  I guess you can say that since I only gave WB two weeks that my opinion is biased, but IMO AH is just simply a better product.  The way I see it, give AH the same amount of time in existence as WB and we will have all those planes to fly.
