I know this is a rant.

But I dont mind. I wont do name-calling, although I really feel tempted to.

Still I want to tell the story of how some guys understand "teamwork" and "countrymate" concepts.

I took off A27 with a Ju88, as there were calls of bombs needed on A30. First time I do this since Tour 10 I think (Im a fighter pilot mostly). I started to go NOE so I'm not spotted on radar.

I see a knight with a N1K2 high on the sky. The N1k2 is in his six. I watch him hoping he gets away. He starts to dive. Good move I think...I am secure cuz I am under 500 feet and the icon doesnt appear until D3.

the problem is that he DERIBELATELY DIVED towards me, and my Ju88, to make the nik spot me and attack the easy cake it is the 88, and so clear his sorry six.

Of course, 4 cannons vs two peashooters, try to guess who won the contest.

For the Knight driver, bud, you lost a mate forever. your loss.

and lastly, but no less important, sorry for the knights online then. I asked for a clap for this guy, because he "deserved" it...and the conversation that followed, although lacking in name calling, was not good to see.

I'm sorry, wont happen again.

Maybe he didn't know you were a Ju-88. I did the same thing last night by accident. I had a con on my 6 and my engine was hit, so I headed towards the nearest friendly con. It turned out to be a friendly C-47   Sometimes its tough to tell the difference in the dots when they are close to the ground. Mistakes happen.

   ok, stop ranting.
What probly happened is that our intellectually challenged comrade saw a friendly in the area, and, assuming said friendly was in a fiter, dove down, hoping to get his six cleared.
Just call him a moron on the public channel, and let it go.  He probly had no idea you were a buff.

Two men were walking through the woods when a large bear walked out into the clearing no more than 50 feet in front of them.  The first man dropped his backpack and dug out a pair of running shoes, then began to furiously attempt to lace them up as the bear slowly approached them. The second man looked at the first, confused, and said, "What are you doing? Running shoes aren't going to help, you can't outrun that bear." "I don't need to," said the first man, "I just need to outrun you."

It's pretty dirty but not always deliberate.  Somebody in a panic just sees a friendly close-by and doesn't think about what kind of plane he's in or that he's not in a position to help.  On the opposite end of that, I hate it when somebody is calling for help and they're high above me and won't drag the fight down to a level where I can help.

I asked him in private about what he had done, and the cynism he showed was what really broke me in anger.

He said that yes he knew that I was in a Ju88, but that toejam happens and that everyone would do the same in his skin. And that it was my problem and fault if I could not kill the N1k on my own(yes with my 2x7.92mm).

Btw Pyro, nice story...and very true.

LOL Pyro, right on.

Reminds me of two scuba jokes:

What to do if attacked by a shark?

Grab knife, stab buddy, enjoy a nature experience

Alternatively: why do sharks never attack lawyers?

Professional courtesy  .

That's life.

Define towards.

Does a n1k about 2k away from you and having to turn 180° fall in that category?

As for the loss, bud.. mate.. you got something damn wrong, I gain

Have a nice day, and be the force with you

"towards"--------->be sure that the N1K2 SPOTS the Ju88.

Your cynism is out of bounds, xela, but I wont fall in the same error as I did online. I chose not to put your handle here, but you came on your own.

You dived TOWARDS ME ,making sure that the n1k was to see me. Of course you dont need to pass under my bomber to ensure that. And still more, you admitted online (and I think that your words are also admitting this) that you dived towards me ON PURPOSE.

[edit]no need to ask, that was said on country channel. Any knight must have read it.

And now, you will excuse me but I wont repeat here the spectacle we gave online. All I had to say is said. I dont want another pissing contest, this time in the forums.[/edit]

You insult me online on country channel and in private (before asking what happened), you post here and lie and have the balls telling me I'm cynical or expect to get away with it?
What's wrong with people these days?

Well Luke.. ya prolly shoulda said "Don't drag to me" on the country channel.  Sometimes it helps, sometimes it dinnae help.  I've watch some folks, after being told XXXXX is in a gooney bird, drag 3 bandits right to the gooney bird so they'd bounce it instead of him, and cost us the field capture.  Makes ya wish killshooter was turned off.  When I'm tryin to sneak I make sure everyone in country knows to not drag bandits to me.

Conversely, when I see a countrymate, obviously trying to avoid radar and contact, headed into enemy territory I assume it's a gooney bird and turn away from them, even if I know the cost will be me getting shot down.  The farther away I can drag the bandit(s) that are on me the more time that countryman has to accomplish his mission with out these bandits hounding him.

I know what you mean skywalkker.  I and my wingman saw a countryman vs a spit and attempted to help him.  AFTER we had engaged, our countryman had the gall to call out the the spit was "his" and that we shouldn't engage.  I was already damaged and got shot down.  My wingman got the spit.  I logged to go to the SEA.  I guess this guy proceeded to rant and rave at my wingman how our actions were improper.  IMO if you want a 1 v 1, set up an H2H arena.  If I see a red icon, I'm in.

These guys who get all bent out of shape about how other people play just need to take a pill and remember that its a GAME.  If you're not having fun, go do something else.  Me? I'm havin a blast!

Hang's twistin' and turnin thru the weeds.. hoppin over logs and dodging spooked sparrows flushed from the bushes; boring in on a contested field flying NOE.

Over the rise ahead pops a smoking bish pony.. three bad guys on his ass.  Now, we all know a smoking pony; deep in injun country is ALREADY dead.. he's just looking for a place to make it offical.

The pony spots me.. turns towards me; the parade of stalking wolves follow. "ARRGH!" I holler and Hairball bolts fer the safe place under the bed.... "SHIT... NO NO NO... " too late.. the wolves have me spotted.

After the debris settled I get a call on the radio... "Hang.. u get 'em??"

"unnnhh.. no... no; sad to say; I didn't." I ask back.. "Did you make it??"

"Naw. augered when the engine quit."

"Bummer" I answered. I just didn't have the heart to tell the guy I was inna C47. Seems that when some guys see my icon they just assume...
