The current government is trying to take Bermuda to Independence, but they want to do this by way of a general election.
Despite the fact that they only won the elction by a few votes and that the popular vote was 52%-48% in the last election the current government has the idea that they have a "mandate" to take the island independent.
The electorate (65% of them, anyway according to the recent polls) want the issue decided by way of a referendum rather than have Party politics play a role in such an imporatant issue.
The guy handing the case over to the Premier is the head of "Bermudians For a Referedendum". Inside the case is about 16,000 signatures on a petition for a referendum.
The guy showing up saying "Pwn3d" is the leader of the Opposition Party...who also wants the issue decided by a referendum.
