EDIT: The altimeters, not the compasses
« on: December 03, 2005, 07:45:29 PM »
Who here misses the old 10k alt pin on altimeters? The rotating wheel with "10" "20" "30" on it was too hard to see, and recently was much improved by white background and black numbers, but who misses the old system?

Because I've got a pretty good version of the old system working in the new cockpit, just by skinning a few files and playing with the alpha masks available. I'm just wondering if there's any interest or what.

EDIT: Whoops, said "compass" in subject line, meant "altimeter".

The new LW compasses are better, but...

*bump*

Nobody flies LW plane? C'mon I just read a comment the other day about a teammate asking for help saying he was at 2k when in fact he was at 12k but couldn't read the altimeter well.

I know folks have been griping about the Spitfire and LW gagues.

I'm just wondering if they want me to do anything about it in my skins!

By simply taking the default dial faces in the Fw190A8 and converting to RGB, using Photoshops Auto-Levels command (takes the lightest and shifts it to white, take sthe darkest and shifts it to black, adjusts everything in between accordingly) then converting back to indexed color and saving the file, it is INFINITELY easier to see the instruments in the 190a8 cockpit. They still have the faded top as if there were a shadow on the instrument but they can be seen better.
