Wow that is horrible, I can not imagine what that poor guys is going. Only makes it worse that he was talking to one on the phone. He will prolly blame himself for this the rest of his life.

Sad.

Both of them died the same way.  Bad driving on both parts.  It would be embarassing to be the one who taught them how to drive.

According to CNN.com, the first one was talking to his dad on the cell phone when he wrecked, and the second one wrecked 15 min later.  I wonder if the Dad called the second one and was talking to him too when he crashed?
Everyone I know, goes away, in the end.

callous statement, if not just ignorant

Bad driving is the parents fault most of the time, they should make sure their kid can handle the road and the car before letting them drive on their own. Sure not every parent is a professional driving instructor, but they should be damn good observers. Despite my saying this, it is extremly out of place to be playing the blame game  over 2 dead brothers.

RIP boys.

PS, not saying it is parents fault, saying the way I see it and believe it Is all.

psst
they were 21 and 23 - been driving for 5 and 7 years
yea - blame the dad/parents, be sure you blame every speeding ticket and accident you get on your parents too - your comment is beyond ridiculous

the tread is about the dads loss, not who is to blame...

Explain this to me again.  I lost my 21 year old son and 15 year old daughter in a car crash last August 28th.

What you are saying is that somehow I killed my kids because I didn't teach Drew to drive well enough?  Maybe it was his behind the wheel instructor's fault?  Maybe it was his mom who drove with him often when he was learning too?

Trust me on something here.  The pain  that parent is going through is something you don't ever want to feel.  Imagine the most horrible thing in the world, then multiply it by a million, and you might be close to understanding the hell that parent is going through.

I wake up every day trying to find a reason to keep going.  That thump in the chest hits me every morning realizing Andrew and Christina are never coming home.

I'd suggest you put your energies into finding a way to help that guy if you can.  He's gonna need all the support he can get and as one who is neck deep in trying to survive a similar event, I don't even know if it's possible.

Folks keep telling me it will get better in time, but my kids are never coming home and I don't know how I'll ever get past that.  I wish I could say I have no idea how that Dad is feeling, but I do, and to see such a cold and unfeeling comment as yours really sucks.

Wish I could say  something to make you feel better, but I cant. So I give you my reason to keep going. You are still alive, and your children would want  you to keep being alive.   Nothing else I have to say really.

PS I want to take back the parents fault comment, and shift that to only the younger ages (16-19)

Dan
I am very sorry for the grief this thread has caused you sir.
Like Saw, I lost my younger and only brother in a car crash back in 89, he was 25 at the time
I had ppl telling me at the gym and work that believe it or not it will get better. I did not believe but whoever said time heals all wounds is correct ...
what they didn't say is that the scab on that wound can easily get broke open, even after 16 years. I am very sorry if I have done that to you sir.

Wishing you and yours the Peace which passes all understanding this Christmas season

So Eagler or Saw,

Any words of wisdom for my  surviving daughter?  She's the middle kid, just turned 19 and was at her first day of college out East when she had to fly home for all this.

I know a siblings experience is going to be different then a parents.  Since you both lost siblings, was there any thing that helped get you through as a brother of a lost sibling?
