Im not sure if crews actually wore sunglasses, I haven't found anything about this subject though.

I would think sunglasses would obstruct their actual flight-goggles? (When they had to wear them)

I have seen some strange goggles with dimmed glass though, I believe that was from a German pilot, but I doubt it would be standard.

What's keeping anyone from wearing sunglasses as they play the game?

Sunglases ya say?  This 51 driver sure has em on.  Actually the goggles issued to pilots had different lenses so that you could put tinted lenses in if you so choose.  They were most definately used.

But this guy is just down from an op and he's got his sunglasses on with his flight gear and helmet.

The glare in AH II is absurdly excessive
« Reply #9 on: December 11, 2005, 08:51:31 AM »
I've never seen glare of the nature seen in AH in any situation save a a stock car with a trashed windshield at sunset, driving directly towards the sunset. The glare wasn't that bad the last time I flew a light aircraft directly towards the sun. not nearly that bad, nor even close.

Dusk appears to me to be the opposite extreme. I've never seen that poor visibility on a clear day with the sun setting but not set.

We should have sunglasses or tinted goggles or something of that nature. And turning the gamma up and down is a poor solution for the problems we now have. It looks completely unrealistic.

The sun glare actually gives me an headache when looking in it for too long!

German planes had tinted gunsights which could be applied during flight (they were behind the gunsight I believe)
Would be a nice addition :)

Have you ever counted how often you actually 'fly towards' the sun? Try and test it offline - test on which angles the sun gives you the damned glare by howmuch.

 You'll be surprised.

Oh, Kweassa... lets take that a step further..

To you sunglass nuts... Try this..

Take your best ray-ban aviators and go into your back yard... Now, stare directly at the sun for 30 seconds..

Then come back here and close this retarded thread..

Thank you and good night.
