Ground score credit in fighters....
« on: December 11, 2005, 12:19:48 PM »
I was curious if there's any possibility of starting to get credited for ground damage/scores in fighter sorties. Couple points:

1.) Historically, that's what Allied pilots on escort DID once their buffs were safe: Burn up ammo against targets of opportunity on the ground (trains, trucks, etc)

2.) Bomber and attack sorties get credited for air-kills, so why shouldn't fighters get credited for objects destroyed on the ground?

3.) Many fighter pilots in game will support base-taking  by knocking down the town, de-acking fields, etc. But because you're not attacking air targets, this hurts some of your stats like hit-percentage (I HAVE seen a noticeable drop on my own stats after a mission where the only thing to shoot was town buildings).
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.
