All I want for Christmas
« on: December 12, 2005, 01:49:06 PM »
Is a graphics card for my computer that works with AH2.

I have a MicroStar  MS-7093 Motherboard

Athlon 3200+,

1.5GB of RAM,

500 w Antec power supply,

Windows XP Pro

Audigy 2 ZS audio system.

I have an ATI X700 PCIE slot graphics card.

Would a 7800 GT  NIVDIA 256 MB card work better?  I am not talking FPS here, just stop the stuttering, rubber bullets and occasional CTD?

I am going to do more system tests tonight.  I just hate having to use 4.12 drivers when there are 5.11 drivers out there.

BTW I thought Bill Gates was the Anti-Christ :lol

right at the moment i'm using 5.3....but i don't know what's best for the x-series cards. i really don't think it's your card. guess the big question is how does it run everything else? my friends gateway i always thought was a lesser machine but after i installed the x700 for him, it actually runs everthing i've tried in it a little better than mine, with more eye candy. including games like half life 2 and call of duty 2.  O and yes, with 24 pixel pipelines and 1200 mhz memory clock, the 7800gt would perform a little better, if you can go by the numbers. and i like that cpu(xp2300+)...it was in the first machine i built, it always seemed to run better at 120f plus though and i never found out why
