Some of you know me. Some of you know me better than others. Some of you know me as a whining, complaining, sarcastic critic of the game, pretty much starting with the introduction of AH2. I have spent alot of time muted, and even more squabbling with other players, even other Bishops (as if there was another country..he!) to the point where I had to have an outstanding night flying to walk away with a smile. Well, I have to give credit where credit is due.....
The game has come such an incredibly long way in the 3 years since I logged into the TA and upped my first spit 9. with no money down I was online with other players...try that with WW2 online lol.....and one of the first people I ran into was Howitzer. He was more than willing to spend time with me and teach me a few things. "Keep doing those flat turns and I'll own you all day long Fish" Those were the days.
Now, I have to say (to avoid being a full blown suck-butt) that by pilots accounts the P-51D's .50 cals dont due justice to the real thing, and I remember reading a few things about the Spit IX being a few KPH faster than the FW190 F8, or at least the A-8, but again I was not there....were you? My point is that if you want the real thing, cough up the coin and take a back seat in a warbird...play some air to air laser tag with an Extra 300, or buy your own Mustang, there are some for sale out there for a measly $15 Million or more. I look forward to hearing about what it's really like.
For now I'll pay the $14.95 and enjoy the closest I will get to real air-to-air combat in an authentically skinned (Thanks Fester) WW2 Warbird. I have tried some of the other flight sims...WW2 online was alot of fun. It took 2 days to get set up...for alot more that a month of AH2...just to roll out of the hanger. Install this....join this....pay this.....if you play that game with any regularity I give you alot of credit, you are far more patient than I am.
I am only posting this because I see alot of crap on 200, and it reminds me of myself a year ago. If you spend all of your time whining on ch 200, there is a pretty good reason why you get shot down so much...cant type and watch your 6 eh? That's OK, neither could I. Even worse, you are the leader of a squad and you complain endlessly....bring them all down with you....good idea. A born leader!
As for me, I will enjoy all of the improvements to an already outstanding game, and look forward to more. I'm sure the next update is just a click away so y'all stay tuned. The terrains are pretty sharp...even though they lack a giant squid, active volcano, and I haven't seen a UFO in years.....the plane models are as good or better than any flight sim out there. I suggest that you do as I have done. Have fun. Enjoy yourself and when you cannot, please log off. You make too easy of a target for the rest of us. Thanks to all of you, who over the years have tolerated my incessant complaining....except CHI
