what has worked well around here is to plan an excursion that takes up about 80% of the vacation time.  this is one of the best times of the year to visit the grand canyon.  those clear winter blue skys with the golden shimmering colorado far below looking like a thread is awesome.  ever been to the everglades national park?  now is also the best time to go.

I lived in South Florida and could walk the glades blind folded, well until the gators got me :)

2 weeks !

This was a spur of the moment vacation. I just finished up a large project and I have a new one starting in January. I decided to get some time off while I had the chance.

If all goes well we will be making a short trip to Fredricksburg in the Hill country near central Texas.  They have some nice BnB's and the weather is good.

The Nimitz museum was... slightly disappointing but still worthwhile.

Try not to stir up too much mountain cedar pollen, mmmmkay.

I'm always right, it just takes some poepl longer to come to that realization than others.

Last summer we, sorry, I remodeled the Kitchen.  The days were cookie-cutter.

6:00am - Stare at the previous days progress
6:01am - Grab some breakfast, recline on the LazBoy
7:00am - Remove a cabinet here, chip some more 1" ceramic tiles (had to be over 800 of these fuggers)
8:00am - Fire up Aces High, fly a couple hours
10:00am - Reclines in the LazBoy and nap (pace yourself when not being supervised by the wife)
12:00pm - Grab some lunch
12:15pm - Fire up Aces High again
3:00pm - Remove some more stuff (just enough to make a difference)
4:00pm - Time it so your removing the last thing when she strolls through the door.

I got away with this for 3 days :)

Karaya

PS - My neighbor and I installed the cabinets in less than 4 hours.
