That engine looked over-modeled to me.

Wolfala,

We just don't run the engines at high MP's any more, too much risk of detonation and subsequent engine damage.  Helps to deal with using 100LL.  At Reno, they sell a special mix for racing that is made special every year for the event.  Other than that, you just do not see the original high octanes any more.
I regret doing business with TD Computer Systems.

I second the "mechanical poetry" comment.  Beautiful radial, really nicely crafted stand, good-lookin' shop.

Yer a lucky bastage, bud!!

Oooo VP Air Race 125/157. You can almost see the lead in it!!

Very nice motor by the way. If only I could hang that on the front of my RV-8

Back to Bohdi's most excellent work, at risk of being off topic, would you by any chance have the designs to an engine stand for small block v8's, along those same lines?

I'd even like the dimenshions of the stand type, (cradle?) the type that doesn't bolt on?

P.S:

I just reaquired a 327 engine 67'with the 'camel hump' . I had sold this to someone years ago,(when i was 18) , before I knew what it meant, my pal razzed me about it for years. Now buddy is kinda sick, and is selling his stuff, and called me right off. He GAVE me the engine, i offered to pay, instead he suggested a donation. The old boy told me he'll deliver it when he sees a proper stand for it....I need help, is it a bolt on or cradle he wants as 'proper'?(i figure i know the answer) Guess the ol' boy wants to see me work for my old engine back. Help , please.

Thanks in advance you guys.

OK so they make a special race blend mix. What is the max u can put a R2800 or Packard Merlin to without blowing it apart on 100LL vs the old 115/130 or race blend?

F4u's are my favorite bird and its a treat to see someone in the game that actually works around them.

Some folks get to have all the fun. Your a dog. Leaded gas (even LL) smells so good when it burns, did I mention...your a dog. I must admit tho..it does look very good. Nice job.
