man you've done such an awesome job with that! so i have one simple job for you :) could you also skin the pilot. just a basic costume for him, make him look better you know, it works in the same way as the skin, and if its in the skin folder he'll show up in that plane. i think someone made a mr T once, looked very funny

maybe just stick a photo on the bmp, it'd be really cool i think. up to you i guess, and its more work, but that skin is so cool, it'd be great to have a nice looking pilot to go with it.

i think you've got the plane looking just right. looks really beautiful!

that'd be so cool to do man. if you put it as another layer over the face, and give it a fleshy colour hue, and just tinker with the clothing, and we'd actually have a proper pilot! that'd be awesome! if you're thinking about heavily customising it, you could also tinker with the cockpit bmp, and put in an old photo at the corner of the instrument panel, maybe some old fashioned pinup. THAT, would be the best skin EVER made after all that!

nah, ive tried and failed miserably at skinning before, i don't have the patience. you're really good at that, you were with il2 beforehand right??

it might be my idea, but i want someone else to do it. if you want to/can be bothered of course.

No to rain on anyone's parade, but it did occur to me that the mainplanes on P51s were painted silver not natural metal.  The fuselage was natural metal but to improve the airflow over the laminar wing, the wing was filled then painted.  So the wing wouldn't have a natural metal look.

Good point...
 but the wings were light enough to reflect the fuselage and come off with a shimmer....
 If I paint it silver it will still look metallic just like in the photos..
 I think it will be ok the way it is..
 They are currently at there maximum on P51D skins now.
 anyway.
 I received an email to that effect.

i love this skin. any word on it being put in the skin update raven???

gotta be one of the best to grace these forums, it surely deserves a place in the game, even though the skin folder is full.

yeah! ide definitely love to see this skin in AH, replace one of those really plane skins, like one that is pretty much standard P-51 except it has red tips.
