if you get a white message saying so and so collided with you, he suppose to take damage...correct?

if orange saying you collided, you take damage?
and if both message, both take damage?

Thats the way it is.

But keep in mind that there are guns involved. He might have shot you before ramming into you, which would result in you getting the white text *and* damage (from his bullets, not a collision).

ok.  so, no pings, only white text saying he rammed me, then a message he shot me down.  i went instantly to tower.  from my view, he shouldnt of had gunz on me, then again, he shouldnt of rammed either.  he may of fired and hit on his end, but once again, i heard no pings and no blood splatter from a one ping pilot kill that i normally get.  sigh

wanted to make sure i understood it correctly first. thanks.

Had one of those two nights ago.  LA7 literally in my cockpit as he rammed me, at least from my end it looked that way.  I see my wings come off and one of his, down I go.  He gets a kill I re up and there he is, flying on his merry way with no damage.

I was all set to get worked up and realized how tired I was from work.  Decided against saying anything dumb and logged off, knowing I wasn't in the right mood for the game :)

I logged off myself as well.

This was just making sure I understood what was suppose to happen.  And figures what was suppose to happen didnt happen when film was running.  Maybe next time.

It doesn't feel like there is a lot of logic to the event.  I can't count the times I've been rammed, only to look behind me and the tail booms of my 38G are gone.  How he hit me in the nose and took my tail off makes no sense.

Then again I've given up trying to make sense of anything connected to computers :)

I might as well get IN now.

Im not dissagreeing with you as I see the same things.
But this conversation is opnly gonna head one way and end one way and next week we will still be getting collision messages and dieing from collisions we cant see and didnt happen from our end

Well, my guess is he was firing while very very close to you. Maybe even when on his FE he was 'inside of you'.

Those instant tower never saw/heard a hit on my pilot happened to me, too, when people are really close when firing. Maybe hit sounds are overlayed by the debris adn engine sound you get when hes so close to you.

DRED, youre not being killed from collisions you didnt see. Thats what people are asking for when they say "both planes should die in a ram". :)

Sometimes yea, I am
I dont mind the ones where it looks to me like we collided.
The infuriating ones are the ones where on my end we completely miss but I get a collision message as I spiral down to the earth.

By the same token and while less frequent I have also been in situations where to me it was obvious we collided yet didnt get a collision message. Or damage either

Dont know about anyone else but I'm also seeing (and not seeing) ALOT more collisions since last update

You say you saw his wing come off "and one of his " and then he has no damage?  I think you only see what his FE reports (except for gun hits) so
either......

You did not see his wing come off

or

He was  flying with  damage.(ie a wing missing)

also if you did not recieve a message saying he had collided with you............ he had not collided with you. (you had collided with him)

What to you was a ram was to him a close pass.

If both planes died during the collision, I would not care so much as we 'both' would die.  But when I get a message that 'they' rammed me and they fly away clean.... that is the part that gets you ticked off.:furious

tilt,

This last week I took a wing off of an F6F, I saw it happen and I saw the F6F minus a wing.  Thinking that's him out of the fight I  carried on searching for other targets, 30 seconds later he is trying to run me down and by now he has two wings, there was only one F6F in the vacinity and I didn't get a kill message until I killed him for the second time,

strange things are happening

Tell me about it, I was gunning down a Goon last night, blew some chunks off him, including what looked like a big part of his tail, and he just vanished. No boom, no kill message, just "poof," like he wasn't even there (I've heard other guys on vox saying the same thing, guys just disappearing).
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.
