Treize,
I meant if the rudder of the G6 where teh data came from. That could have contributed to the difference in weights.

Would that be the Galland armour?

Bf 109G-6/trop weight only 3154 kg, and it had additional tropical equipment for it (air filter, and survival stuff for the crew, ie. a rifle and stuff)

(via butch2k)

I suppose the 3196 kg is either some inconsistency in the GLC charts which often cross-quote similiar, but different variants (ie. recce and fighter), or is simply a result of modifications to the airfrmame The long tail unit was 8-10 kg heavier iirc, and there was some extra radio equipment installed.

Dear Kurfurst

I want to calculate trop equipment weight to get weight of 'clear' G-6
How do you think, where trop equipment weight is hidden:
in Leergewicht or in Zusatzliche Ausrustung?

I have Laderplan of Bf109F4 "trop" Jabo version and Laderplan of clear Bf109F4.
Bf109F4 "trop" Jabo Leergewicht 2150 kg
Bf109F4 "clear"        Leergewicht 2092 kg
Bf109F4 "trop" Jabo Zusatzliche Ausrustung 337 kg for 1x250 bomb
Bf109F4 "trop" Jabo Zusatzliche Ausrustung 348 kg for 4x50 bomb
Bf109F4 "clear"        Zusatzliche Ausrustung 266 kg

If trop equipment weight is hidden in Leergewight, we can calculate it for F4:
2150-2092=58 kg.
The weight of G-6 trop equipment should be the same as for F-4
In this case weight of early "clear" Bf109G-6 should be 3154-58=3096 kg
This weight is in a good compliance with Bf109G-2 weight plus inreased weight of ammo and guns, calculated above (3042 + 46.4 = 3088.4 kg)

Hi George,

From the meaning of the terms alone, it should be in "zusätzliche Ausrüstung", as this means "additional equipment".

That's not definite, though. If we're unlucky, it might even be split between the two.

25kg for the tropenaurüstung of the 109G-6/trp as follow
Karabiner mit Halterung = 5kg
Tropenausrüstung: Notausrüstung im Gepäckraum = 20kg

btw the weights are :
G-2/trp : 3071kg
G-6/trp : 3154kg

Hi Butch,

>25kg for the tropenaurüstung of the 109G-6/trp as follow
>Karabiner mit Halterung = 5kg
>Tropenausrüstung: Notausrüstung im Gepäckraum = 20kg

Thanks! :-)

What about other "trop" modifications - would they be included in the empty weight? (Actually, the air filter is the only piece of equipment I can think of right now.)

>btw the weights are :
>G-2/trp : 3071kg
>G-6/trp : 3154kg

Do we have the same difference of 83 kg between the two types without the tropical gear?
