Has anyone ever purposely flown into someone's tail (from the 6 position) inorder to cause damage to the other plane ? ... if so ... did you survive ?

I was accused of that last night along with being called a "cheater" at the same time.

Oh ... BTW ... great fights between A73 and A74 last night. Best round of fighting in a LONG time ... till OUR side leveled their FHs ... :cry

I tried to ram the 5th Goon I encountered in an attack...had killed the first 4 and two 51's.

I rammed the tail of the goon only to go down in a heap, with him suffering no damage.

It was a desperation move, and failed.

I'd do it again.  :)

Have I ever run into someone's 6?  Yes.  Deliberately?  No.  But same result.  It always results in damage to you, not to them.  Damage results to the person who sees the collision on their FE.  Kamakazi attacks dont work.

I ram when im out of ammo sometimes. MOST of the time I die, sometimes we both die, other times I am lucky and win the ram.

Next time I suggest:

(this happened to me) diving under the enemy plane and pulling up just in front of them sharply, will most likely send them plummeting (as it did me) and leave you unscathed (as it did my rammer).

or

Get in front of them real fast and cut throttle, side slip and then have them ram YOU. Note you'll probably go down but take them with you.

I was out of ammo when i rammed a knight buff dropping on a bish base at fightertown on the donut map.i died he lived.i am a rook

Once about 3 years ago I was out of ammo and tried to ram a Lanc, i dont remember causing any damage but I lost a wing.  
Another time I saw a formation of Ju88's low and dove on them with a 109-G10, I dove from about 4-5k lining up on the center of the lead plane.  I got a valuable lesson in compression as I was unable to pull out and slammed right in the rear of the Ju88, you would have thought that plane was made of concret.  I fluttered down wingless and smoking wreak while the Ju88 no damage.
And just last night I got too close to a B-24 and flew right throught the fusalage from side to side.  Heard all kinds of damage noise, only lost an airleon, and as far as I know, no damage to the B-24.

If I run out of ammo and REALLY want to kill the guy, I'll try to fly underneath and pull up really hard, and hope he gets a collision on HIS fm :p Only done it a couple times, and lost pieces both times. Got the kills tho :aok

Morph the only reason i rammed the nit buff dropping on a bish base was because it was on fightertown.:D

I've accidentally gone up the tail-pipe of planes, usually they see me at the last second and chop throttle to zero just as I'm about to open fire. As far as I know I am the only one that took damage in every instance. I'm pretty sure I died each time, I guess the tail of a plane thru your skull is unhealthy, go figure. :huh

Interesting ...

I didn't really ram into his 6 ... I had around 50 20mm left in my Hurri IIC ... reversed him and sliced his wing off.

He said that I didn't have any ammo left (how in hells bells he knew this) and because of that, I rammed him for the kill.

So from what I am seeing, if one can ram from the 6 position, chances are your not going to fly away from it ... which I merrily did after he made a BIG splash in the ocean ... :rofl

Did it one time on purpose.  I was out of ammo and right up close.  Had visions of that Marine pilot who did it in his F4U and survived.

I wrecked myself.....not that it isn't what I normally do anyhow :)

Needless to say I went down.  Don't believe the other guy did.
