Worked in a aircraft refurbishing shop for 18 months straight out of HS. It was a cool job, stripping and repainting planes and choppers (such as Geraldos and the Duke University helicopter, my name is actually on it so look closely at an episode of E.R., and a Texan, that was cool) Then went to the Newburgh Auto Auction, started in the body shop, now I'm basically an insurance adjuster there, I inspect the incoming cars for mechanical problems, frame damage, previous repairs and existing damage.
They use that info to set the floor price of the vehicles, I'm a car nut and I get to ride around in everything from Mack trucks, to atv's, anything in between. We've even had a Ferrari from Tommy Hilfigers collection, Lambroghini's etc etc. In my spare time I occasionally do custom paint work like motorcycle helmets and the such.
Best part is we're directly across from Stewart ANG base and Stewart airport, I get to watch low level C-5A and C-130 flights daily, and the occasional fighter or two. Saw a B-17 and B-24 this year, last year I had a birds eye view of the Blue Angels practicing for our airshow for a week straight, and we even had a B-2 come in for a ceremony, officially naming it The Spirit of New York. The place is so big it's a designated Shuttle emergency landing strip.
Sorry for the long post, but it's a great place to work for a car/aircraft buff
