I'm not sure I ever understood the purpose of dancing.  It seems an inefficient method for attracting a mate.  Would you really want t o select a mate based on how well they can hop around in time to a rhythm?  In fact, in today's world I would think that dancing like that would indicate that you were not interested in the opposite sex.  ;)
