wife may let me get new puter finally.  im not smart enough to build one, so looking for good already built one.
would this work?

its from alienware for $999.  ive been looking on net some, but all advice is welcome.

I'd definitely go with more Ram... if you want to use the high res textures in AH, it takes just a little over a gig of ram. I'd recommend adding at least one more stick of the same ram...

thanx for reply.  second time ive heard more ram.  guess it must be done.

the dual vid cards?  whats that do?  better to have one better one, or 2 like they have setup?

You're better off getting one really good vid card, than adding two of them in SLI fashion. This way you can enjoy the killer frame rates and later, when your computer has problems keeping up, you purchase the same type of card cheap.

For example, I'd get a single 7800 rather than two 6600 in SLI fashion. Its a difference of about $50-$75 but you'll see a huge improvement.

Good systems for a decent price.

I have dual 7800GTX 256 mb cards. AH doesnt support this. The 7800 GTX card is great.

get all the ram you can. I have 2 gig. Made a TON of difference.

2 SATA drives with raid 0 works well with load times. get the 10,000 rpm if you can.
