New Dodge Challenger

Just saw a pic of the new challenger, nice.

http://www.allpar.com/cars/dodge/challenger.html

"There are rumors that the new 392 Hemi crate engine, designed for racing, will go along with the new Dodge Challenger body. The 392 is apparently a racing-only engine in current form, not a production design, but a lower-power version may well be made for production and appear in the Challenger."

Far, far better than their attempt at a "Charger".
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

It looks like a updated version of the old Coronet. I agree it looks far better than the Charger, and I bet its more popular too.

the coronet shared a body with the charger.  the challenger is completely different.  I like the looks of the new one, though.

The "Cuda" was a Plymouth..a brand that is no longer in existence. So there can be no Hemi Cuda

Sweeeeeet.

I could see Dodge pulling the Cuda back out of mothballs. Chrysler has crossbranded before.

If they build it I will own one! I'm a diehard Mopar person, at the time I needed a new car. I couldn't wait for a Charger R/T to be built so I got a Caddy CTS.  I'm glad my lease will be up in 08' I'll be back in a Dodge..

Looks nice.

All the effort they put into the Challenger rework, and the rear just misses the mark, IMHO.

I hope it's not just propaganda about the 392ci/500+hp Hemi ..would be a lot of fun to drive an R/T that had balls, again.

If they put R/T on a 6-cylinder Challenger, I will laugh at 'em when I see 'em.

Kinda funny readin about the 'short' wheelbase of 116 inches.
Hemi Cuda was 105" ..it's why it launched so well, it was shorter than the Challengers (110" I think?).. the few inches shorter made a difference in weight txfer off the line for a fact.

I hope they sell a lot of 'em.. I'd love to get one and stuff a 700 cube crate Hemi in one :) .. and find me a V-6 sticker and some very quiet mufflers .. LOL.

Looks nice! A true sales competitor to put up againt the latest Mustang imo.
And sure as all hell beats the pathetic ricer version they did in the late 70's early 80's  ("wing_ning, ning, ning, ning!")

I kinda like the look of the new Challenger.   I cant help but think that GM screwed the pooch when they killed the Camaro/Firebird line and messed up the Impala line.  Especially after that kid drew that Camaro concept a couple of years ago.   Love it or hate it at least Chrylser is trying to build something besides look alike Honda and Toyotas

Problem with a car like this?  Dodge transmissions still suck.
