Yes. They go out and hold guns to people's heads. That's the ticket, and just exactly what I was trying to say.

Nice googley eyes. Nice rhetorical flourish. No wonder I've lost my love of this place.

After five years of smoking my 06' resolution is to quit...I am a senior, and graduating from college in May and there is no way I want to carry this awful habit with me the rest of my life...What Im telling myself is "Mike, if you cant quit something as trivial as smoking cigarrettes, then how are you ever going to accomplish any of your aviation/political (any goals in general) goals?  So Im really gonna try and use this as motivation...

Additionally my family has a lot of heart trouble...My father religously jogs 5 miles every morning, everday of his life and had a heart attack at 51...He is now 63 and will most likely have a pace maker by the end of the year because of "palputations"....And he was a non smoker...So health wise im really trying to tell myself, "mike do you want to put yourself in an early grave?"

I hope I can do it, I know how tuff its going to be....Goodluck to everyone else quitting, I know it is for the better for all of us...

oh by the way, I dont think I will be able to go out and drink for about a month or two because its going to be so fvucking difficult to not cheat and smoke a butt when im smashed lol..

ALSO- for the guys that quit...now that your 1-2-4-20 years from smoking do you ever get urges?  when do you get the urges?  how bad are they?

I smoked for about eight years... quit for ten... then smoked for another five and now I've quit again for the past four months.

I used to think that the urge went away after two years. Now, I don't think it ever goes completely away. It'll always be there. After a couple of years, you may not notice the nicotine demon, but the alcohol demon knows where to find him. ;)

I smoked for twenty years and have been quitting for the last three.  No, the urges never go away.  Just writing this right now makes me want one.

FUN FACT!!!!!
Arsenic has a lethal dose for the average human with no tolerence of about 260mg. nicotine has a lethal dose for the same person of about 40mg. thus, nicotine is more lethal than arsenic.
