Films junk after 109 Update
« on: January 02, 2006, 04:36:15 PM »
I dont think this is a bug so I will just post it here. Rahter I think its how the film viewer is designed.

After the 109 update, the changes to the G6's and deletion of the "G10", everytime I open one of my films that has a G10 in it, or a G6 with 30mm, it crashes. If a I am in a G6 the film will run until I go to fire, since there's no more 30mm for the G6, it will crash on me when I fire. If I am in a G10, the film will just crash from the start.

I'm hoping that this is just my problem, and one that can be fixed easily on my own. I hope so... But I dont think so.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Also, if this is normal and everyones films are crashing with the G6 w/30mm and the G10s, is there a way HT, that you can fix it? :(

EDIT: Also, if anyone has a Copy of the install for AH1 and the film viewer exe, I'd be in debt to them if they could send it to me. If someone does have it, PM me and I you can upload it to my server. I have a ton of old AH1 films that dont work anymore either.

I checked out the old archive for the Hitech site and it amazingly allows you to download terrain, updates, and the game itself (I just checked).

CLICK ME

Check the root directory for the whole listing, I forget where they used it post the film view download.

Yea Morph same crap here, the only thing i could think of would be to install the older version of AHII in a separate directory just for watching the old films.  It sucks but I might have to, too many good old 109 films :(

am not finding AH1 Film Viewer, wasn't it built in with AH1? and not a seperate download? you had to go to the AH1 root directory and make a short cut, or it showed up in programs, didn't it?

anyhow Morph, the version I uploaded was the last one listed on the link, Delirium provided - version 1114  March of 2003

I had the same version loaded on my PC, also have 1995 but thinking that is the preview to AH2.....

edit: on my backup CD I got all the AH1 maps if ya need em too, to view the films , just shoot me an email

The problem seems to be caused in the G10 with gondolas, and the g6 with 30mm like Morph said.  Seems to me that without these options on the new planes the viewer doesn't know how to interpret the data.
