1) How is that POS game giving you so much trouble and 2) why not wait for the next MSFS?

Did you explain what your problem was with it?  Did you tell them the game you were trying to play and when it would occur?  They have nothing to go on unless you give them good info.

Have you uninstalled and then re installed the game?  Make sure you get ALL of the files out.  You may have something corrupt but I doubt it.  There's gotta be something wrong with your hardware.

Not sure, it's only a 15-20 minute download to check though.
Do you have service pack 2 from Microsoft?  It might be causing it.  Is it dying right as the game launches or after playing for a few minutes (excuse me for not reading all your previous posts).

http://www.windowsnetworking.com/articles_tutorials/Dark-Side-Windows-XP-SP2.html That link explains some of the problems of SP2 and you may be able to find something on it.

See how much more strain Flight sim will put on your computer?  With AH you only have a few maps with the same textures.  This isn't to say MSFS has a ton of different textures but they have mapped the "globe" you could say and that is all preloaded onto your computer I believe.  Not to mention all the extra's like the planes, the weather, lights etc.  I think your vid. card will run it if i remember correctly.  How many MB of RAM do you have?  You might want to think about going a full gig if you haven't already.  I'm not expert though so take what I say with a grain of salt.  (Consult a pro before spending $100+)

I'd really say slap another 512MB in there. If not 768MB.  It's pricey though so you might not want to.  Like I said, ask someone that knows more about computers, i'm just an amateur.  Your video card would be fine but i'm not really up on the Geforce cards, i'm more of an ATI guy.

Did your computer run the game before?  If so, did you change anything since it last ran?

Good luck

If you are doing low alt flying and it does it to you then take a look at that site, the guy describes getting froze after 5-10 minutes of low alt flying, just do to the textures taking an extremly large amount of space.  Try taking the 747 up to 35,000.

256 Mb and XP is barely enough to surf pr0n on the net with nothing open except IE and ur fly :D. Games require a minimum of 512Mb, preferably 2 gigs these days.

First, uninstall then reinstall FS2004.  Then go to this site and get all the latest updates.  If at that time you still get crashes, you have a hardware issue. (probably)
