Testors 426 hemi help
« on: January 07, 2006, 01:57:36 AM »
I bought the model fisguring it would be a neat project.  After the bearings were just about stripped due to the other bearings coming undone I decided to glue them in.  Next I went to attach the cam gear to the crank gear and the pieces don't line up, they are off by about 5 MM, not much but enough so that they don't even touch.  The cam gear is too far back, or the crank gear is too far forward.  Either way I haven't progressed very far in the 3 hours i've worked on it.  Any help is much appreciated.

if the crank gear slides on the shaft if suggest filing down the rear of it until it lines up with the cam gear .

if not you'll need to shim the cam gear forward to match the crank .
