random disconnects caused by wireless router
« on: January 09, 2006, 07:22:21 PM »
OK... about every 30-45 minutes, I get disconnected from my router, and reconnect almost immediately, causing a "host connection lost" and a very angry wetrat. Now, seeing as I could go downstairs, unplug my cable modem, plug it back in, and not get a "host connection lost," even tho I'd have no connection for far longer... is there any way to change something so I can be disconnected for 1 second without being booted immediately? A new router isn't an option~~ it's not mine or my connection.

Try reducing the local area connection speed of the router.  Most of them have that option.

I tried out wireless at my place, but i kept getting disco'd as well. Went back to trusty CAT-5 cable - works perfectly.
