LOL Curval and Seraphim (I have lots of those living here, too, cute critters).

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

Rgr all, Rip, the "periodic shop around" is what I'm doing and what prompted my question (so far Geico is the cheapest by far). I'll look at AIG.

I've had Geico for about ten years.  In my ten years with them I've hit two deer and had a vandel smash all the glass in a car.

They had my cars in the shop in a day, and claims settled quickly without any hassle.  They have great customer service, once you get through all of the automated stuff.

Now for the best part, my rates didn't go up for all three claims.  I checked my rates with progressive and State farm about a year ago and neither company was even close.  (Prog was 250.00 more, state farm was more).

I'm actually going to switch to them on my homeowners insurance when it renews.

My buddy recently switched from Geiko due to a 40% rate hike after an accident between him and his garbage can & garage.  He'd been using them for at least ten years without any claims up to that point.  When he called to ask them WTF?, they said it was "policy" to jump the rate like that.  Maybe just when it's a single person accident, I dunno.

I called them back in '97 to see what wonderful savings they could offer me, and they were about 200% of what Allstate was charging me at the time...but I was young and had tickets on my record.

I currently use State Farm.  It's 60ish bucks a month for full coverage with high liability coverage and $0 comprehensive deductible for my 94 Ford Thunderturd... plus I can go talk to a real person if I need to.  After my dad passed away, I had to make three different claims on his homeowners insurance with State Farm, and they were fantastic and very helpful all three times.

My mother went with them one year.
Got a pretty good deal that first year too.
When the renewal came in the mail a year later they had jacked up the price significantly to the point where she found it cheaper somewhere else and dumped em.

I've seena  few places do that.
Washington Mutual did it with me with my commercial insurace.
Gave me a real good rate the first year then tried upping the price by almost $500 the next year.

Now had they upped it like say even $100 I probably wouldnt have thought anything of it and just paid it.
But $500 pissed me off so I shopped around and ended up with AllState for a cheaper rate then I had the first year with WM and my insurance actually went DOWN almost $200 the next year and has remained stable ever since.
