ok in the game u have to save the default skin of the aircraft you want to do.
then go in to the program files and find  HTC then aces high 2 open that  foulder and you will find a list of sub folders. Now find the folder marked skins and open it,u should have a yellow folder with the name of the aicraft u want to do e.g spit 9
Now make  a new folder and name it spit91 .
to get the bitmap of the origional open the spit 9 folder then highlight the skin copy and then paste it into the new folder  e.g spit 91
also copy the material file.

now u can close the folders  and u are ready to strat no the skin.
depending what u  use i use psp8 i then open up psp hit browese  and find the htc folder then look for the folder u just created.

once found click on it to open it and then yu find the skin and can start.

what do u mean by concept? taking bits from some one elses skins? or a idea for a skin that some one has posted?

With what you replyed to my post i'm now finally able to get started on creating some new skins, ty.

I found some camo scemes and markings of some of the tiger and panzers used during WWII.  And I was wondering if there is a way to take those images and put them into a skin form and put them onto the Aces original and make modifications that way as well?

depending wwhat softwear u are using  u can add things using  layers, each time u want to ad  a different thing u can add   a seperate layer.
one layer to cover somethng not wanted  and another to add  and so on and so on.
then when u got what u want  you make the skin in to a bit map  and  it will show on the viewer
