That was a weird one alright. I'd estimate about 40-50 players from both sides were involved in the action.. a 'maximum effort' from both rooks and bish.
I have no idea what happened precisely over the map room.. I do know that the majority of the air and ground action was about 4 miles west of the port and very low, and that the goon made a 3k high approach from the east and got to the port unopposed. I saw the ostie was backed up against the tower and his field of view towards the water was restricted... I overflew him a few moments before, and was working back for a rocket attack on him when I got caught and bagged out to the west. It's my understanding the troops landed near the dock and got to the map room from the osties 'blind' side.
It's quite possible the troops were simply missed in all the action.. and there WAS a tremendous amount of action going on there.. classic last ditch defense of a port with a fleet and plenty of determined rooks to make it stick. I suspect that at least 30 attempts were made with m3's and goons on that field over the preceeding 30 minutes.. several guys managed to get a few troops into the map room; myself included.
Certainly it's possible the troops are still bugged.. and I'll keep an eye out for this kinda stuff popping up. If anybody else sees it; try and run film on it.. if theres a problem HTC needs to fix it.
Salute all u guys that fought that action.. was a heluva show.

EDIT: as an aside.. the goon pilots that fly into these mele's deserve to be to treated with a little respect... if there is bug with the troops, it sure ain't their fault. If somethings wrong; just film it and send it in.. don't lambaste the poor bastard thats flyin an unarmed plane into a combat zone for doin his job..
