Haunted House
« on: January 16, 2006, 08:06:40 PM »
I think I live in a haunted house. The house owner, who is by the way the original owner with his two daughters, often claimed that lights would go off and on in the house. Since I have rented the house I myself have not witnessed any such thing.

Here in the last few weeks I have been hearing footsteps taking about 3-4 steps, possibly in a hard healed boot or shoe, walking accross a wooden floor that creaks sometimes. They arent all that loud, but they have gotten my attention while reading or when there isnt alot of overwhelming noise in the house.

There is nothing near, in, or around the house to make these noises. The dog doesnt bark when I hear them, but he does tilt his head to the side like he is trying to decide where they are comming from.

Any of yall think yall live in a haunted house?

I believe that it is easier to live not believing in ghosts.

But, I have to share this. When I was little and messing around with some frieds. We set up a camera in the front window of my friends house. I think we were trying to make a war movie. Anyway after awhile of all trying to be general we went inside to watch it. My friends dad set it up and we all sat down to watch. Well on the tape it showed us all playing. But in the middle of the yard we saw a small boy laying on his back kicking his legs as if on a bicycle. Scared the living ***t out of us. My friends dad proceeded to get up and break the vhs over his knee and throw it out. We didnt talk about it after that. Just easier not to know.

Haunted House? No....but..............

My Mom lived with my wife and I for almost 17 months before she passed away last September. She lived upstairs in our home for almost the whole time she lived with us. She absolutley loved it up there. She made one of the bedrooms into her living room and the other into her bedroom. We called the upstairs LadyBugs Penthouse. Ladybug was her nickname.

Since my Mom has gone , my wife and I both believe her spirit is there and watches over us.

We BOTH have heard footsteps upstairs. In both the rooms. I have been setting up in the loft in our computer area and been perfectly quiet and still when I feel a breeze and can smell mom's lotion she used to use. Or her perfume she wore.

To make all this even more real is , before she died , a couple of months anyway , my wife and I bought her a dog. Brinkley. He is a Shid-Zu. Brinkley gaurded my mom and stayed near her all the time. Where ever she was he was there. Bed , under her chair , in her lap. Didn't matter. Now , about 1 or 2 times a week , Brinkley will walk to my moms chair , sit at the foot of it and just look up like she is sitting there. After a few seconds he'll stand on his hind legs and put his paws up in it and sniff. Then lick a few times and lay at the foot of it for a while. He barks sometimes late at night (the time she liked to have coffee and a smoke) go to the door and just sit. Nothing there. No wind noise. No wind chimes going. Nothing.

I firmly believe that my Mom , since she died there in our home , in the room my wife and I sleep , that she is there. She watches over us. Makes sure everything is ok.

It's not a scarey thing. Like you may think they want you out. It's more comforting and warm feeling when we hear what we think is her. Very soothing. My wife and I often look at one another and say you feel Mom here? And we both shake our heads. Usually Brinkly is not far behind in showing up in the room.

Now all that may sound like ole RedTop is losing his mind or shooting you a line of bull , but I assure you I am fine and not shooting ya a line of nadda.

It sounds strange , perhaps wierd. Maybe we have over active imaginations.

But I really feel she is there and will continue to watch over us.

Ghost? Nahhhh...Gaurdian Angel?  Yep:)

"Wheres my cake Bedelia?"

Its best not to pay attention to the stuff your mind can do.  If we all did, nobody would leave mamas teet. We'd be to scared!

the door that leads from our hallway into the garage is closed by a commercial grade hyraulic actuator type door closer.  one night as I'm watching TV in the adjacent family room at around 0300 the door to the garage slams hard which is nearly impossible to do.  concerned I go look in the garage and there is no one there.  now perplexed I go check on the family and all are sound asleep.  who opened the door who made it slam hard?  a few days later out to edge of my peripheral vision I glimpse at a person walking quickly past the doorway from the family room into that same hallway headed towards the garage.  I was the only person home at the time.  other than those two occurances no others before or since, but they were wierd.
