as a side for what its worth.
I worked with lacquer paints exclusively for the first 15 years of my career.
trust me when I tell ya even the high quality lacquer oxidizes very very quickly when left to the elements. especially dark colors.
When lacquer paint oxidizes it doesn't "rust" per se but instead it gets dull and chalky it tends to hold stains and dirt as well as bleed its color to surrounding surfaces. its forgiving in many ways but needs allot of attention.
Looks really nice on a trailer queen show car always under cover but on a ww2 AC out in the weather It may not hold up to well.
That was my mind set when I painted it. ill try it out lighter and see if I can pull it off w/o it looking as to bold.
